Sebastian Herkner
Born in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied product design at the Offenbach University of Art & Design, focusing on designing objects and furniture by merging various cultural contexts, combining new technologies with traditional craftsmanship to highlight the multifaceted beauty of the materials and draw attention to fine details. His internship at the officies of fashion designer Stella McCartney in London helped enhance his feeling for materials, colours, structures and textures.
Since founding his own design studio in Offenbach am Main in 2006, Sebastian has designed products for brands such as ClassiCon, Gervasoni and Moroso. He also works on interior design projects and presentations for exhibitions and museums. His designs have received numerous prizes. Sebastian Herkner is curator of Das Haus at IMM Cologne 2016.
Terrace table and Ample armchair
After launching the Mark chair and Mark dining table at the IMM Cologne this year, the collaboration between LINTELOO and Sebastian Herkner has expanded. During the 2016 edition of Salone del Mobile, LINTELOO will launch a new family of side and coffee-tables plus a new armchair designed by Sebastian Herkner. The side and coffee-tables are inspired by the arrangement of the countryside and the layout of fields: TERRACE. The table tops are made of different handmade ceramic plates. Because of the various levels and surfaces, the color will slightly change its attitude from each perspective. AMPLE is an upholstered wing-armchair with ottoman and has a strong silhouette and character as much it is cosy. The padded seat is placed on a wooden structure and the soft cushioning gives you the feeling of an intimate place with many possible seating positions.
Mark collection
Mark is a new collaboration between LINTELOO and German designer Sebastian Herkner. Chair Mark is like a sign, a graphic silhouette. The unique design is based on the use of solid wood and strong shapes. The plank-like back gives the chair a distinctive aura. The structure with three legs adds comfort and elegance.
Starting with cardboard models and prototypes in his studio in Offenbach, you can see how Herkner works with materials to find the final shape for a piece of furniture with an eye for detail, finishings and colours. The collection also includes a table in 3 different diameters. Introduced at IMM Cologne 2016.
