Piet Boon

Dutchman Piet Boon runs an awardwinning design practice. He started it in 1983, and he and his team create bespoke contemporary architecture, interiors and products for the luxury market. ‘I have known Jan for thirty years. I first met him at the place of a client, Han van Dijk. Jan was a friend of Han’s and he regularly dropped by to see how my work was getting on. It was always a pleasure when Jan came over. He has such a happy personality. He immediately cheers you up and always manages to give you a warm feeling. It was inevitable, or better, unavoidable to become friends as well. He is one of the most affectionate and hospitable people I know. He is a great cook and loves good food and good wines. Whenever you visit him, he has just one thing on his mind: to spoil you tremendously. Early in the year I was a guest at his sixtieth birthday party, which he celebrated at the wonderful Maison Estate in Franschhoek, South Africa. Again, it was a hugh pleasure and a joy. During that memorable occasion, Jan and I agreed that Linteloo will take over the production and distribution of our furniture collection. I am extremely happy about that;

I couldn’t have found a better partner. Linteloo enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide. I have a very good feeling about entrusting the Piet Boon collection, which is like our baby, in the capable hands of Jan and Lars, so it can further develop. I would like to add that Jan has many good friends he has known for years, not only me. That says a lot about his personality. I hope to remain friends with both Jan and Lars for many more years. They are both lovely people and the best in their field.’
